    Developed transportation

    TangShan is a national comprehensive transportation hub, a regional logistics node city with a land, sea and air three-dimensioned traffic network.

    Three national trunk railways – JingHa, JingQin and DaQin, cross the whole city, enabling JingJinTang-Half-an-Hour-Economic- Circle basically in its shape.

    Multiple expressways – JingShen, TangJin, TangGang, TangCao, HuangCheng, to name a few; add up to 546 kms in mileage with a density having reached the level of developed countries.

    The Port of TangShan boasts two big ports – JingTang and CaoFeiDian, who are open to navigation to more than 120 countries and regions in the world. They saw 446 million tons of cargo throughput in 2013, ranking 7th in the country.

    The TangShan SanNvHe Airport has opened multiple hot spot air lines to for example GuangZhou, ShangHai, KunMing, ShiJiaZhuang, with an accumulated over 7,000 times safe takeoff and landing, erecting a bridge between TangShan and the rest of the country.

    Rich and quality resources

    ·Rich and varied natural resources: TangShan is rich in natural resources. The number of mineral resources discovered and reserves proved are as many as 49. Coal, iron, oil gas, crude salt, gold found here constitute TangShan as an important energy and raw material industrial base for HeBei Province if not the whole country.

    ·Long coastline: Coastal land coastline runs as long as 229.7 kms.

    ·Ample unused land available: In the heart of CaoFeiDian alone, an area of 1,000 km2 unused land is available for construction purposes. Development potential is great.

    A solid industrial foundation

    Industrial pattern formed: Sitting with resources advantage and deep water ports, with over a hundred year’s development, TangShan’s industrial pattern of pillar industries featuring in high-quality steel, basic energy, high grade building material, equipment manufacturing and pharmaceutical & chemical engineering has formed.

    High-tech industries well-established: High-tech industries are developing fast. All kinds of robots, high-speed bullet trains, EVs, and industries such as new energy have been in very good shape.

    Advanced education and academic research

    Achievements in 2012:

    ·Number of major sci-tech projects executed: 66 (of which 32 were national or provincial level projects);

    ·Number of scientific results tested (accepted): 677 of which 64 were of internationally advanced level, 542 at national leading level, 68 of national advanced level;

    ·2/ two new products were accredited as national level major new products.
