On November 26, the 6th Session of Eastern Royal Tombs of the Qing Dynasty Walking Festival was held by Eastern Royal Tombs of the Qing Dynasty, an AAAAA class scenic spot and world cultural heritage site. More than 10,000 backpackers from 77 outdoor clubs in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region as well as in Shandong province and Liaoning province participated in this activity.

The theme of this walking festival was "Measuring History with Footsteps and Protecting Cultural Relics with Actions" and the walking route was 10 kilometers. The festival continued to adhere to the idea of combining humanity and history with sports and leisure so that participants could pray for a better tomorrow while gaining health and happiness.

Eastern Royal Tombs of the Qing Dynasty Walking Festival had been successfully held 5 sessions, and the cumulative number of participants was more than 50,000. In order to let more citizens to participate in the activity, to promote the development of nationwide fitness exercise and enrich the connotation of Eastern Royal Tombs of the Qing Dynasty Walking Festival, the Management Committee of Eastern Royal Tombs of the Qing Dynasty made efforts to establish Eastern Royal Tombs of the Qing Dynasty Walking Festival as a sports brand in Tangshan, even out of Tangshan and going to the world. Currently, this activity had its influence and popularity in Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Liaoning and even Shandong, Zhejiang, and so on.
