Transport of Container in Jingtang Port Area exceeded 2 Million TEUs 2018-01-05

On December 30, 2017, with the work completion of "Jihang 37" container liner heading over Fuzhou Port, the container throughput of Tangshan Port in Jingtang Port Area reached 2.002 million TEUs, a net increase of 500,000 TEUs compared with the previous year, which increased nearly 34%. Jingtang Port achieved its historic breakthrough of doubling within two years, which indicated that Tangshan Port Group took a crucial step towards developmental directions of containerization, modernization and internationalization.

Jingtang Port comprehensively strengthened its cooperation with Tianjin Port and consolidated container resources. Besides, it led to establish Jintang International Container Wharf Co., Ltd., set up a foreign trade feeder from Jingtang Port to Tianjin Port, and co-ordinate the ocean-going line of Tianjin Port, which opened up a convenient, efficient and low-cost import and export channel for Tangshan, and took the lead in realizing the coordinated development of Tianjin-Hebei Port.

Jingtang Port vigorously improved infrastructure and bearing capacity. On the basis of the 4 existed container wharves, it invested more than 1 billion yuan again in 3 general cargoes of berth to conduct the reform of container specialization, and to complete the construction of yard, demolition and consolidation boxes, checkpoints, special foreign trade box area, special refrigerated storage cabinet area and other facilities, and to introduce the automated loading and unloading equipment, and therefore the equipment technology and operational capabilities of Jingtang Port would be greatly enhanced.

Jingtang Port made overall plans to promote route layout and train transportation, and expand the connected network of sea transport and rail transport. Around Bohai, it paid attention on constructing the container hub port of domestic trade and near-sea shipping line base port of foreign trade. Specifically, it opened Circum-Bohai-Sea domestic trade sub-lines to Panjin, Jinzhou, Dalian, Huanghua, Tianjin, Weihai and other ports; and opened domestic trade arteries to Haikou, Guangzhou, Quanzhou, Wenzhou, Ningbo, Shanghai, Nanjing and other ports; and therefore formed a domestic trade transport pattern of "one ring and several arteries". Besides, foreign trade transport, on the basis of the encryption on the shipping line from Jingtangshan to Busan of South Korea, fully opened the shipping lines of Jingtang - Kanto of Japan (Jingtang - Tokyo - Yokohama - Nagoya), Jingtang - Kansai (Jingtang - Osaka - Kobe), and the number of domestic and foreign trade routes reached 33, forming a powerful adsorption force on the supply of containers. In addition, Jingtang Port actively involved in the construction of "Belt and Road Initiative" and fully played its promoting function role of the national demonstration project of "Eastern Coastal Region-Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region-Northwestern Channel container combined transport of sea, rail and road". It successively set up 6 inland ports in Taiyuan of Shanxi, Shuozhou, Xinzhou, Erdos of Inner Mongolia, Wuhai, Urumqi of Xinjiang, opened 15 combined lines of sea and rail, and rail and sea transport container capacity reached 110,000 TEUs, whose proportion ranked top of ports in the country.

Jingtang Port made the brand of quality service, and strengthened its construction of normalization, standardization and information. Preferentially, it guaranteed the berthing and unearthing of container ships and entering and leaving ports of container liners, established the standardized management system of safety production, developed and applied the  information system of integrated container management, which obviously enhanced automation, loading and unloading efficiency and service function of containers.
