Caofeidian Port-Ulan Bator International Train was opened 2018-03-28

On the morning of March 26, the first international freight train at Tangshan PortCaofeidian Port (Caofeidian Port—Ulan Bator) first container international train was officially opened at Nanpu Station, and deputy mayor Cao Quanmin attended the opening ceremony.

In his speech, Cao Quanmin pointed out that the successful opening of international container trains from Caofeidian Port to Ulan Bator was not only an innovative move by Tangshan City to open more widely to the outside world but also a strategic move toward the sea. Besides, the opening of international container trains was not only an important strategic move for Caofeidian Port to expand its thinking and open innovation, but also provided Tangshan with a new opportunity to amplify the advantages of eastbound shipping and tap into the potential of west-facing roads. With the stable operation of international trains, Tangshan Port, as an important meeting point of the “One Belt and One Road” and the role of an international hub in Northeast Asia, would become increasingly apparent, which would surely become a new bright spot in Tangshan’s opening-up strategy. We must take the opportunity of the opening of international container trains, stick to greater steps to go outside, introduce higher levels, and strive to seek new cooperation, display new behavior, and create new achievements in the construction boom of the “One Belt and One Road”.

This train carries 51 containers of cans, electrical appliances, linings, furniture, PVC raw materials, etc. gathered to Caofeidian Port from the surrounding areas of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, East China Sea and South China Sea. It will be directly sent to Ulan Bator, Mongolia through Mongolia’s Erlianhaote Railway Port. The train is the first train international container train of Caofeidian Port to pass customs clearance through Erlianhaote Railway Port.
