"Made in Tangshan" ran on Lanzhou-Xinjiang High-speed Railway 2018-05-08


A few days ago, the train of D55010 with the speed of 160 kilometers per hour, developed by CRRC Tangshan Company, departed from Urumqi Railway Station and arrived in Hami. The operating speed was 144km/h to 160km/h. It took 4 hours and 30 minutes and the vehicle group was in good condition. This was the first time for the EMU to run on Lanzhou-Xinjiang high speed railway.

The EMU with the speed of 160 km/h is an innovative research and developmental project which is guided by market demand of China’s rail industry. Its means include improving quality and efficiency, innovating technologies, and integrating resources. It aims to achieve standardization, modularization, and serialization of key systems. What’s more, it’s an active exploration of supply-side reform. The EMU can completely replace the passenger train of 25T and become the main product of the next-generation universal passenger train in China. It will promote the upgrade of railway technical equipment and improve the quality of railway products.

The organization mode of EMU with the speed of 160km/h is the first one in the domestic railway industry. It is led by China National Railway Corporation and China National Vehicle Corporation. Its team leader is Academy of Railway Sciences and it is designed by CRRC Tangshan Company. At the same time, it integrates the use of domestic existing supply chain of passenger train and EMU, which has truly achieved the overall goal of “learning from one’s advantages to offset the other’s disadvantages”to ensure that the project results are in an internationally advanced position.
