The picture shows that on April 26, the first China-European train Departed from Tangshan Port to Antwerp, Belgium, and the international railway logistics channel of Tangshan communicated with the world was opened then.

In the past, domestic products had to be sold to Europe and could only be shipped to the eastern port cities and then turned back west by sea. In order to make "Made in China" no longer detour, the Central European trains that are all the way to the west and directly to Europe came into being. Within 16 days, from Tangshan Port Jingtang Port Area, the Central European train in Antwerp, Belgium, carrying containers containing kaolin, yeast and other goods across the Eurasian continent, with a journey of 11,000 kilometers, the products appeared in the European market-before the opening of the Central European train, this logistics and business model was almost unbelievable, but it has now become a reality.

Full of Hope and Started Again

More than two thousand years ago, a Silk Road opened a land route from China to Central Asia, and opened up a new era of Sino-foreign exchanges. Standing on a new historical starting point and focusing on further deepening economic globalization, the “One Belt, One Road” strategy has injected a new era into the ancient Silk Road. The opening of the China-European train has opened up a huge international market for the world economy and brought tangible benefits to the people of all countries.

After 16 days of smooth operation, on May 12, 2018, the train of “Tangshan-Antwerp” arrived in the open air yard of the railway freight station in Antwerp, Belgium. Counsellor of the Belgian Embassy in China, Edward Vaughan Klein, said that Belgium is China's sixth largest trading partner in Europe. The port of Antwerp is the second largest port in Europe. It has a history of more than 400 years and is known for its highly concentrated port industry. The opening of the Central European train from Tangshan Port to Antwerp not only built a platform for cooperation between the two ports, but also opened up a new channel for economic and trade exchanges between these two countries, becoming an education and culture between Tangshan and Antwerp, and between China and Belgium. The platform for exchanges in tourism, innovation, etc. is a milestone in the history of trade relations between Belgium and China.

The first Sino-European train of Tangshan opened by Tangshan Port Group saved at least half of the time compared with traditional shipping, which not only greatly improved the comprehensive transportation efficiency, but also successfully expanded the Tangshan Port container multi-modal demonstration project to Central Asia, West Asia and Europe. The “One Belt, One Road” docking between Tianjin and Hebei Province has opened up a new international logistics channel. Tangshan Central Europe Banley is a vivid practice to comprehensively promote the high-quality development of Tangshan. It is also an important measure to implement the “one port and two cities”. It is built with Jingtang Port as the hub, covering the three north, China Unicom, Central Asia, and Europe. Intermodal network. As a result, the new opening pattern of Tangshan and the sea, Western Union and Europe and Asia is taking shape, and a new Central European train operation channel has been opened for the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

Tangshan is Heading for the World

As the earliest state-opened port of the country developed and constructed in Tangshan City, Jingtang Port Area has become an important port of the national Water Transport of “the13th Five-Year” Development Plan, which includes three ports of green port, smart port and multi-modal port. The demonstration project of the Ministry of Transport ranks the first. In 2017, the cargo throughput of Jingtang Port Area was 290 million tons, ranking first in Hebei Port and ninth in the country; container traffic exceeded 2 million TEUs, accounting for 54% of Hebei Port, ranking 16th in the country.

Tangshan Port is making every effort to break through the land and sea, and strive to build a large channel, large logistics, and big trade. From the sea to the route layout, Tangshan Port opened 33 domestic and foreign container shipping routes, achieving high-density full coverage of the main ports in the domestic coastal ports, Busan Port in South Korea, and the seven basic ports in Kanto, Kanto, Japan. At present, the Jingtang Port Waterway reaches more than 190 ports in more than 70 countries around the world. The cooperation between Tangshan Port and Tianjin Port has taken the lead in realizing the coordinated development of the port of Jinsong. The two branches of foreign trade have enabled the container logistics of Jingtang Port Area to connect to the world.

From the land train transportation, Tangshan Port vigorously promoted the container multimodal transport demonstration project, and set up inland ports in Shanxi, Inner Mongolia and Xinjiang, and opened sea-rail intermodal trains. “Japan, Korea, China and Mongolia” container  international transport of the intermodal transport achieved stable operation.

Tangshan Port Becomes a New Window of “One Belt and One Road”

The successful opening of the China-European train of Tangshan Port has built a water-land international inter-modal network with the Jingtang Port Area as the hub, covering the Three North, China Unicom, Central Asia and Europe. It is a vivid practice of Tangshan Port Group to promote high-quality development. Tangshan City is fully integrated into the “One Belt, One Road” initiative to strengthen important measures for capacity cooperation with countries along the route. Tangshan Port Group will comprehensively build a new open channel for land opening from Tangshan to Europe, and become a new window for the “One Belt, One Road” in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and the northwest region. It will accelerate the pace of international port construction and build a window city for economic cooperation in Northeast Asia. The new industrialization base in the Bohai area and the important fulcrum of the Capital Economic Circle provide the first effort of traffic.

Nowadays, the Sino-European train has grown from a toddler “child” to a “sportsman” who is as fast as flying. The trains filled with Chinese building materials, clothing, hardware tools and small commodities are not disconnected to the European continent. “Made in China” is favored by foreign friends. The returning path is accompanied by imported red wine, cheese, maternal and child supplies. It is foreseeable, with the in-depth development of the “One Belt, One Road” strategy, this steel giant connecting the world is leading to a bright future and becoming a “happy train” for the benefit of all peoples. The material is in circulation, and the culture is communicating. This modern version of the “Silk Road”, which is well-connected, has no yellow sand flying and a camel bell. Instead, the wheels are rolling and the whistle sounds.
