【Land Resources】In 2023, Tangshan covered a total land area of 1.4129 million hectares, including 506,000 hectares of cultivated land, 150,100 hectares of plantation area, 165,400 hectares of forest land, 52,700 hectares of grassland, 44,000 hectares of wetland, 323,100 hectares of urban, rural, industrial, and mining land, 48,300 hectares of transportation land, and  123,300 hectares of land for water areas and water conservancy facilities.

【Mineral Resources】There are 51 types of various mineral resources in Tangshan City, and nearly 30 types have been developed and utilized. Major minerals include coal, iron, gold, limestone (for cement, alkali, flux, and lime), dolomite for metallurgy, petroleum, and natural gas. By the end of 2023, the proven reserves of major mineral resources included 5.35 billion tons of coal, 7 billion tons of iron ore, 290 million tons of flux limestone, 480 million tons of metallurgical dolomite, 140 million tons of alkali limestone, and 350 million tons of cement limestone. There are 289 licensed mines, including 168 iron mines, 105 non-metal mines (quarries), 6 coal mines, 7 gold mines, 1 geothermal mine, and 2 mineral water mines. There are 10 mining-related counties (cities/districts), including Zunhua, Qian’an, Qianxi, Luanzhou, Kaiping, Guye, Fengrun, Fengnan, Luannan, and Lubei.

【Marine Resources】In 2023, Tangshan governed 4,336 km² of sea area with a 251.33-km mainland coastline, bordering Qinhuangdao to the east (Luanhe Estuary) and Tianjin to the west (Sajintuo Chawangpu). There are four uninhabited islands with island characteristics: Puti Island, Yuedao Island, Xiangyun Island, and Longdao Island.

【Wetland Resources】Tangshan is a major wetland city in Hebei Province. According to the 2022 national land change survey and statistics based on the "full-caliber wetlands" standard, the city's wetland area reached 174,600 hectares in 2023, accounting for approximately 23% of the province's total wetland area. The wetland area protected by ecological red lines, nature reserves, important wetlands and other forms is 46,200 hectares, and the wetland protection rate is 26.4%.

【Protected Land Resource】 In 2023, Tangshan had 25 nature land reserves, including 2 provincial-level nature reserves: Caofeidian Wetland and Bird Provincial Nature Reserve, and Hebei Leting Putidao Islands Provincial Nature Reserve; 10 provincial-level scenic spots: South Lake, Kailuan National Mine Park, Jingzhong Mountain, Castle Peak, Xifengxiongguan Daodao Garden, Wuhu Mountain, Baiyangyu, Luanzhou Ancient City, Qinglong Mountain, and Putidao Scenic Spot; 8 forest parks: Qingdongling National Forest Park, Xiangyundao National Forest Park, Yudai Mountain Provincial Forest Park, Shanyekou Provincial Forest Park, Xuliukou Provincial Forest Park, Jingzhong Mountain Provincial Forest Park, Jiufeng Mountain Provincial Forest Park, and Xiaobohaizhai Provincial Forest Park; 3 geoparks: Qian'an National Geopark, Qianxi Provincial Geopark, and Zunhua Provincial Geopark; and 2 provincial-level wetland parks: Hebei Luannan Nanpuzuidong Provincial Wetland Park and Hebei Leting Luanhe Estuary Provincial Wetland Park.

【Wildlife and Plant Resources】In 2023, Tangshan was home to 462 species of terrestrial wild animals, including 30 national first-class protected terrestrial wild animals such as the Great White Pelican, Oriental White Stork, and Red-crowned Crane; 88 national second-class protected terrestrial wild animals such as the Swan Goose, Mute Swan, and Mandarin Duck; 128 provincial-level protected terrestrial wild animals such as the Bean Goose, Common Shelduck, and Eurasian Siskin; and 216 "three-value" (of benefits, of important economic value, and of scientific research value) protected terrestrial wild animals such as the Bar-headed Goose, Common Moorhen, and Eurasian Collared Dove. There were also 835 species of terrestrial wild plants, including 33 fern species, 11 gymnosperm species, and 791 angiosperm species. Among them, 5 are national key protected wild plants: Ginkgo, Walnut, Wild Soybean, Phellodendron amurense and Glehnia littoralis, while 72 are key protected wild plants in Hebei Province, including Selaginella tamariscina, Fern, and Dongling spleenwort.

【Water Resources】In 2023, Tangshan recorded a precipitation of 544.1 millimeters, 13% less than the annual average. Zunhua had the highest precipitation in the city at 668.4 millimeters, 7% below its multi-year average, while Caofeidian District had the lowest at 425.3 millimeters, a 25% reduction from its multi-year average. The city's surface water resources amounted to 684 million cubic meters, equivalent to 46.8% of the multi-year average, and groundwater resources reached 1.117 billion cubic meters, accounting for 77.8% of the multi-year average. After deducting 360 million cubic meters of repeated calculations, the total annual water resources in the city were 1.441 billion cubic meters, 59.3% of the multi-year average. In 2023, the total inflow water volume into the city was 814 million cubic meters, including 511 million cubic meters from the Luanhe River, 117 million cubic meters from Zunhua, and 185 million cubic meters from Qian'an. The total outflow water volume was 256 million cubic meters, including 198 million cubic meters from Zunhua, 48 million cubic meters from Yutian County, and 10 million cubic meters from Fengrun District. The total water inflow into the sea was 100 million cubic meters.
