Tangshan Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, founded in 1972, has two hospital areas, namely the East Hospital Area on Kangzhuang Road and the West Hospital Area on Guofang Road. It is a modern comprehensive traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) hospital with comprehensive treatment capabilities, integrating medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, prevention, health care and rehabilitation. It is proficient in traditional Chinese medicine, Western medicine and the combination of traditional Chinese and Western medicine. It is a Class-A tertiary TCM hospital and a national demonstration TCM hospital. It is also an affiliated hospital without subordination of North China University of Science and Technology, a teaching hospital of the Dongfang College of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine and Hebei University of Chinese Medicine. The hospital is a national standardized training base for TCM resident doctors (TCM), a national practical skills examination base for physician qualification (TCM category), an innovation base for postgraduate students of North China University of Science and Technology, a construction unit of the Hebei Provincial Regional TCM (Anorectal Disease Specialty) Diagnosis and Treatment Center, and a pilot unit for the construction of TCM classic wards in Hebei Province (Endocrinology specialty). The Preventive Treatment of Disease Department is the third batch of national pilot units for preventive treatment of disease recognized by the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and the Clinical Laboratory has been included in the medical institutions whose inspection results are mutually recognized in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
