On February 15th, ten diplomats in China and their family members gathered to appreciate the thousand-year-old cultural heritage in the bright lights at the Spring Festival Lantern Festival in Nanhu where they enjoyed a journey through time and space full of oriental colors and Chinese romance. Although coming from different countries in Asia, Europe, America, Africa, and Oceania, they were all amazed by the splendid prosperity of the lantern festival.  

As a unique cultural brand in Tangshan, "The Lantern Festival for the Spring Festival of 2024 in Nanhu" covers an area of 300,000 square meters, with the theme of "Dragon Descendants Welcome the Spring Festival Together" and the main line of innovation, inheritance and promotion of excellent traditional Chinese cultures. Through nearly 100 groups of ingenious and beautiful lantern groups, dozens of distinctive performances and interactive activities, we creatively condense the historical evolution of China's 5,000-year-old civilization, the essence of rich and colorful traditional culture in various places, and the great rivers and mountains, customs and products from all parts of the Divine Land under the night sky of Nanhu.

"Tangshan is in a beautiful situation, where people feel very comfortable with the fresh air and warm sunshine. Tonight's lantern festival not only introduced China's history and culture, but also gave us a taste of her natural beauty, which is very terrific and beautiful! This is attributed to the efforts of the Tangshan Municipal Government and the people of Tangshan, and I wish the people of Tangshan a happy Spring Festival! Good luck in the Year of the Dragon!"Hussam A.G.Al Husseini, Jordan's Ambassador to China, was giving a thumbs-up from time to time to praise Tangshan in the midst of the glittering lantern display.  

"This is my second time coming to Tangshan, my family and I are here to celebrate the traditional Chinese Lunar New Year with everyone. I am very impressed by the beautiful scenery of Tangshan. I wish Tangshan better and better." Chen Jinsheng, Minister- Counselor of Thailand, expressed his hope to have more opportunities for communication and cooperation with Tangshan in the future.  

With the sky as the curtain and the light as the pen, 2024 drones are magnificently presenting patterns and words with elements of the Year of the Dragon and Tangshan characteristics in staggered rise and fall. Many diplomats stationed in China took pictures with their mobile phones during the whole performance. At the Danfeng Chaoyang Square, the show of light and shadow entitled "Descendants of the Dragon" is even more dazzling and shocking, as the gorgeous laser renders the sculpture tense colors and vitality, and the giant phoenix in the light and shadow spreads its wings to fly with the flames bursting out to light up the night sky. "The UAV show is beautiful and impressive. We sang and danced along with Chinese songs, and everyone was very happy. We spent a very pleasant night here together." Martha Mavromati, the Ambassador of Cyprus to China, said with great satisfaction after watching the performance.  

"Participating in this event, diplomats stationed in China can see the achievements of development and progress, and feel the peaceful and joyful atmosphere of the people in Tangshan."said Li Li, Director of the Diplomatic Service Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, "Tangshan is showing its ever-changing appearance to the world, and I expect that diplomats in China can convey Tangshan's desire to strengthen international exchanges and cooperation, so that the world can further experiencing the new image and development of Tangshan."
