On June 13, more than 10 teachers and students from Saddleback College of the United States came to Tangshan No. 2 Middle School to carry out colorful and distinctive activities of exchange and study.
The students from Saddleback College got acquainted with their language partners in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere, and visited the Square of Motto Monument, the Auditorium, the Building of Science and Technology, the Library, and School History Museum of Tangshan No. 2 Middle School, with an experience of traditional Chinese cultural activities and courses of robotics and table tennis.
Zhang Jianmin, vice principal of Tangshan No. 2 Middle School, commented: "We have organized a number of activities and prepared courses on traditional Chinese culture about the Dragon Boat Festival and Pingju, which has helped American teachers and students to gain insight into Tangshan’s urban charm, and cultures of folk, industry and food, as well as the characteristics of Tangshan No. 2 Middle School to experience the life of teachers and students. Through such activities, we hope to strengthen exchanges between young students of the two countries and deepen people-to-people friendship."
Angela Yang, Director of the International Department of Saddleback College, said that they cherished the opportunity in an appreciative way to be invited to Tangshan, China. International education has a great influence on students, as it can promote deeper understanding and consensus formation through cultural exchange. It was a special trip to broaden their horizons and experience Chinese culture first-hand. Upon returning to campus, they will become cultural messengers, which will be significant for their whole lives.
