From January to June 2024, the total import and export value of Tangshan’s foreign trade was 76.72 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.8%, accounting for 24.7% of the province's total import and export value, ranking the first in Hebei Province .
In terms of business entities, the import and export of private enterprises reached 42.65 billion yuan, an increase of 6.2%, accounting for over half of the total. The import and export of State-owned enterprises reached 27.85 billion yuan, an increase of 4.5 %.
In terms of trading partners, the countries along "The Belt and Road" accounted for nearly half of the total, with the import and export amounting to 36.24 billion yuan, and Australia emerging as the largest trade partner. The import and export of other RCEP member countries amounted to 31.85 billion yuan, accounting for 41.5% of the total import and export value.
The trend of diversified import and export commodities is evident. Steel export amounted to 6.63 billion yuan, an increase of 48.3%. The export of ceramic products reached 1.93 billion yuan, an increase of 19.9%; clothing and clothing accessories reached 1.25 billion yuan, an increase of 8.1% and plastic products reached 830 million yuan, an increase of 11.7%. In terms of imported commodities, metal minerals and mineral sands were the mainstay and the meat import have doubled. The import of metal minerals and mineral sands reached 30.71 billion yuan, an increase of 27.8%, accounting for 56.8% of the total import value. The import of natural gas amounted to 14.84 billion yuan, an increase of 13.9%. The import of agricultural products amounted to 2.14 billion yuan, an increase of 18.2%, of which the import of meat was 850 million yuan, an increase of 7.2 times.
