Tangshan Economic and Trade Delegation Visited Australia

From November 5 to 8, a Tangshan economic and trade delegation visited Australia, with Zhang Chengzhong, Secretary of the Tangshan Municipal Party Committee, attending related events.

In Melbourne, Zhang Chengzhong jointly attended the Tangshan-Australia Two-Way Trade Products Exchange Meeting with Consul General Fang Xinwen of the Chinese Consulate General in Melbourne, Mayor Andrew Davenport of Whitehorse City, and Councilor Liao Chan'e of Melbourne. Zhang Chengzhong stated that Tangshan and Australia maintain close economic and trade relations in fields such as energy, electromechanics, and ceramics, with broad prospects for cooperation. He expressed hope that this exchange meeting would serve as an opportunity to strengthen communication, actively expand areas of cooperation, and effectively transform complementary advantages into a strong momentum for mutual development. During the meeting, the China Tangshan -Australia Economic and Trade Liaison Office was inaugurated to facilitate commercial cooperation and cultural exchanges between the two regions.

The delegation also visited key enterprises and institutions, achieving positive outcomes in promoting practical cooperation. At the Australian headquarters of Rio Tinto Group, they met with General Manager of Investment Relations Tom Gallop and others to explore cooperation in areas such as port logistics, ore trade, and deep processing. At the iCamuno Biotherapeutics, Monash University, in-depth exchanges were held with Professor and blood expert Mart, advancing cooperation in industry-academia-research integration and the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements. At Avnet Australia, the delegation visited the Avnet-Huizhong Ultrasonic Flow Measurement Laboratory and witnessed with Chen Yifen, General Manager of the Asia-Pacific region, the signing of a strategic cooperation agreement between Huizhong Instrumentation Co., Ltd. and Avnet Australia, alongside further advancing collaborative projects in areas such as smart water management.
