Located in Shanyekou Village, Dawuli Town, Qian’an City, Shanyekou Scenic Spot integrates geological culture with national features and is hailed as the “archive of geology and geomorphology in the Archean era” by geologists.

The colorful stones, known as the “colorful glesum in the sea”, are ubiquitous in the scenic spot. Confirmed by textual researches of geologists, these stones were formed by cobblestones and mud being pressed under high temperature and high pressure in the seabed 3.85 billions years ago, plus the process of crustal movement. Of all stones, the flatfish fossil is intensely alive and lifelike. The six-trunk pine tree, a divine tree in the scenic spot, is more than one thousand years old.

Going sightseeing to Shanyekou in the early autumn, tourists will find themselves in a place like the sea world to enjoy the luxuriant and green trees, agreeable weather, clear spring trickling through the mountain.

With such tourist facilities available as Gallery of Geological Archives, Geological Exhibition Hall, and Tourist Center, the scenic spot was awarded with 4A Tourism Scenic Spot by the National Tourism Administration in 2013.
