The Cultural Block of Hetou Old Street is located at the north end of the Tangjin Canal Ecotourism Resort. With a total length of 2,500 meters on both sides of the canal, its overall positioning is a commercial street of cultural tourism with the integration of brand catering, shopping and leisure, antiques, calligraphy and painting, and tourism. The first phase of the Canal Chinatown project is 1,000 meters long, with a construction area of 31000 square meters and a total investment of 500 million yuan.

Since its opening in 2011, Canal Chinatown has been successively rated as one of "Eight Scenic Spots of Tangshan", "Top Ten Scenic Blocks in Hebei Province" and "Top Ten Scenic Spots in Hebei Province". In 2013, it was awarded the title of "Chinese Characteristic Commercial Street" and became the first national level commercial street in our province.
