Peiren Historical and Cultural Street, located at the core of Tangshan's urban industrial historical and cultural zone, covers an area of 25.8 acres (approximately 17,200 square meters) with a planned construction area of 16,400 square meters, including 6 newly built buildings and 6 renovated buildings. Based on the existing century old cultural relics of Peiren Girls' School and Jin Da’s former residence, the street preserves profound historical and cultural heritage while catering to the leisure and social consumption needs of citizens and tourists. It plays a significant role in commemorating the city's history, inheriting its cultural context, enhancing urban charm, and boosting the local economy. The project broke ground on July 26, 2019, was completed by the end of September 2020, and opened to the public on June 26, 2021.
Since its opening, the street has focused on "delicious food," "entertainment," and "cultural experiences", with the goal of promoting the inheritance of urban historical context and activating urban consumption economy. It brings together high-quality businesses such as cultural creativity, leisure entertainment, catering, hotels, and fashion shopping. Paired with the China (Tangshan) Industry Museum, Hans Kundt Former Residence Museum, Peiren Education Memory Hall, and Jin Da Memory Hall, it forms the "Four Halls and One Street" complex, collectively showcasing Tangshan's industrial heritage.
